Azucena was my Verdi debut and a huge part of the battle was overcoming my own insecurity as whether I really possessed the vocal heft, color, and style to do her justice. I am very lucky this role debut was at the Landestheater Linz, under the musical guidance and support of Enrico Calesso, as well as director Gregor Horres, and some truly outstanding colleagues who brought out the best in me. Honored to be nominated and looking forward to tackling some more Verdi sometime soon.
